Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
Meet Brice Bonnard. Brice obtained a French "Diplôme d'Ostéopathe" and is a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.
After working few years as an auxiliary nurse in orthopaedic and digestive surgery service in France he joined the college of osteopathy for a five year full time program at CEESO Lyon and CIDO Saint Etienne.
Both backgrounds combined make him able to better understand different pathologies encountered with a professional view and different perspective. After gathering a variety of clinical experiences in South America, Africa and France, Brice decided to settle in Toronto.
Brice works both chair-side with Dr Schecter as well as in our consult rooms for private Osteopathy sessions.
Naturopathic Doctor + Homeopath
Meet Dr. David Nortman. David is a naturopathic doctor who focuses on mind-body medicine and the gut-brain connection, while treating a wide variety of chronic conditions. David strives both to help his patients regain their health and to guide them to live in alignment with their life purpose.
To this end he utilizes a personalized combination of naturopathic and homeopathic treatments to support his patients in their unique life journey.
Dr. Nortman studied science and philosophy at the University of Toronto before completing his naturopathic education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004. He is a licensed naturopathic doctor in Ontario and a member of the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Naturopathic Doctors.
In addition to his naturopathic studies, Dr. Nortman has completed over 2000 hours of post-graduate training in classical homeopathy. He has published articles in international homeopathic journals, and is currently writing a textbook on homeopathy.
David is part of the integrative healthcare team at Schecter Dental, where he works both with dental patients seeking a more holistic perspective and with all those who are in search of a deeper perspective on their health.
Dr. Andrea Scholten ND
Meet Andrea Scholten. She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. In her practice, Andrea focuses on understanding and educating patients about the root cause of disease; addressing all aspects of mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Using individualized treatment plans consisting of a range of natural modalities, including diet and nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, herbal medicine and homeopathy, Andrea strives to empower her patients to heal themselves.
Andrea graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine receiving the Governor General's award of Excellence and she also holds an honors degree in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan.
She has a particular interest in homeopathy and graduated from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine with a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.
Andrea treats an array of health concerns, and has a special interest in women's health including fertility, hormone balance and endocrine disorders, gynecological concerns, pregnancy and childbirth, as well as pediatrics. Andrea sits on the board for the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors.
She is trained as a naturopathic doula and is available to attend births. Andrea is a member of the integrative health care team at Schecter dental and provides consults in either Portuguese or English.
Her objective at Schecter Dental is to work collaboratively with the integrative health team to provide individualized holistic care, supporting healing and optimal health for all her patients.
Dr. Julia Segal ND
Meet Dr. Julia Segal. She is a Naturopathic Doctor who has a passion for awakening self-knowledge and harmonious health in individual patients and in her community.
She is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) where she trained in this unique approach to wellness including diagnosis and health assessment, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and homeopathy.
She loves working in depth with patients in order to bring these tools into their quest for deeply rooted well-being of mind, body and spirit. While at CCNM she helped lead the Caring Clowns Club, also known as the Funny Bones, bringing the therapeutic power of humour and play into her community.
Julia holds a B.Sc. in Biological Psychology from the University of British Columbia and enters the field of Naturopathy with a particular interest in mind-body medicine, women’s health and endocrinology as well as gastrointestinal health.
She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors as well as the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
Her objective at Schecter Dental is to make nature’s medicinal and healing power accessible to those who seek it, working as part of an integrative team to provide thorough, individualized care.
