Colin Malval, Osteopathic Practitioner
School is officially over. Camp has either started, or is beginning to. Did you know that bringing your children to see an osteopath can help prepare them for what lies ahead this summer. At the end of the school year children are tired, physically and intellectually.
They have been using different areas of the brain to concentrate and focus in class. They have been using different pathways and different muscles to deal with stresses imposed by school and performance tactics.
An osteopath uses gentle manipulation to ease and release any tired an aching muscles in the body. Seeing an osteopath can help children feel healthy and give them a balanced sense of energy that is required for summer play. Since the intellectual demand from school is lessened, their bodies will benefit from realignment in order to stay strong and healthy during physical play in the heat.
Osteopathic treatment is a relaxing experience and can tell you a lot about what is going on inside your body. Many people think of osteopathic care when their is an injury or when adults have stiff joints, muscles or general aches and pains. Although tremendously beneficial for all of the above, preventative, consistent osteopathic care for children is extremely beneficial.
