Meet Brice Bonnard. Brice obtained a French “Diplôme d’Ostéopathe” and is a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners. 

After working few years as an auxiliary nurse in orthopaedic and digestive surgery service in France he joined the college of osteopathy for a five year full time program at CEESO Lyon and CIDO Saint Etienne.

Both backgrounds combined make him able to better understand different pathologies encountered with a professional view and different perspective. After gathering a variety of clinical experiences in South America, Africa and France, Brice decided to settle in Toronto.

Brice works both chair-side with Dr Schecter as well as in our consult rooms for private Osteopathy sessions.

Andrea Scholten is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. In her practice, Andrea endeavors to create a safe space for patients to explore all aspects of their health; mental, emotional and physical. Using a variety of techniques from a mind body medicine approach to functional medicine testing, Andrea skillfully melds together the art and science of medicine to wholy understand the root cause of each individual’s illness or dis-ease.

Andrea uses a range of natural modalities including diet and nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, body work and counseling.  Andrea strives to understand each person’s unique experience of their disease and as such treat the person rather than the disease, while empowering her patients to heal themselves.

Andrea graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine receiving the Governor General’s award of Excellence and she also holds an honors degree in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan.  She has a particular interest in homeopathy and graduated from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine with a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.

Andrea treats a variety of health concerns with a special interest in digestive health as this is often at the root of many chronic diseases. She also enjoys treating women’s health concerns including fertility, pregnancy and beyond as well as treating children. Andrea has a passion for environmental health and sustainability and seeks to help others understand how environmental toxicity affects not only the planet, but also our health.

In addition to her Naturopathic family practice, Andrea enjoys spending time in nature, with her son, biking, swimming, running, gardening as well as playing and singing in a local Brazilian drumming group. Her passion for travel has taken her across the globe and she has lived and worked in The Netherlands, Taiwan and Brazil. Andrea provides Naturopathic consults in both Portuguese and English.

Andrea is a member of the integrative health care team at Schecter dental and provides consults in either Portuguese or English.

Her objective at Schecter Dental is to work collaboratively with the integrative health team to provide individualized holistic care, supporting healing and optimal health for all her patients.


David Nortman

David Nortman

Naturopathic Doctor, Trained Homeopath

Meet Dr. David Nortman. David is a naturopathic doctor who focuses on mind-body medicine and the gut-brain connection, while treating a wide variety of chronic conditions. David strives both to help his patients regain their health and to guide them to live in alignment with their life purpose.

To this end he utilizes a personalized combination of naturopathic and homeopathic treatments to support his patients in their unique life journey.

Dr. Nortman studied science and philosophy at the University of Toronto before completing his naturopathic education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004. He is a licensed naturopathic doctor in Ontario and a member of the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Naturopathic Doctors.

In addition to his naturopathic studies, Dr. Nortman has completed over 2000 hours of post-graduate training in classical homeopathy. He has published articles in international homeopathic journals, and is currently writing a textbook on homeopathy.

David is part of the integrative healthcare team at Schecter Dental, where he works both with dental patients seeking a more holistic perspective and with all those who are in search of a deeper perspective on their health.

Dr. Marillea Yu, N.D., is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and her passion is helping people reach optimal health. She achieves this through the integration of traditional healing methods with modern-day scientifically proven natural therapies, while educating, empowering, and actively engaging patients in their journey to wellness.

Marillea is a graduate of the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario. She completed her clinical training at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto, where she provided care to patients of various ages and from many walks of life.

Marillea has received training in the Naturopathic modalities of Clinical Nutrition, Lifestyle Counseling, Botanical/Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Asian Medicine, and Homeopathy. Additionally, she has received special training and certification Environmental Medicine and in the administration of Intravenous (IV) and Injection Nutrient Therapy.

Marillea is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).

Dr. Marillea is covering Dr. Andrea Scholten while she is away on maternity leave from March – October, 2019. Her objective working at Schecter Dental is to provide integrative, collaborative and individualized patient care and to educate, inspire and support patients as they journey along their path to optimal health and wellness.

We are excited to welcome Marine to our wellness team. Marine will be starting with us nearing the end of 2019 and will be taking over for Brice, our on site Osteopath.

Marine received her DOMP (Diploma of Osteopathic Manual Practitioner) from the Osteopathic College of Provence (COP) in France in 2017 after a 5 year training period.

She has a holistic approach to osteopathy, identifying the root cause of symptoms and conditions. She adapts her treatment according to the patients unique needs. She practices visceral, cranio-sacral therapy, and various joint techniques.

The range of her techniques can be beneficial for a variety of patients. As an osteopath, she treats athletes who need maintenance care on a regular basis, or are recovering from injuries. She also treats pregnant women, babies and children.

Her techniques are also very helpful in stress-management and various physical conditions, including chronic headaches.

She will welcome you in French and in English.
